Structural Bonding
Certified Dow Corning Specialists
London Architectural Glass are certified Dow Corning Specialists, using specialised glazing techniques to bond glass to metals, timber and other glass units.
This specialist bonding technique is especially useful when bonding a building's structural framing members to a unit of glass. These structural framing elements can be metal channels, angles or framings.
Dow Corning sealants used by London Architectural Glass for structural bonding are high-strength adhesives, suitable for use in high-resistant loading applications such as blast or bomb-resistant installations and offer a suitable alternative to traditional mechanical fixing.
This is a regular practice when creating bespoke windows, doors or opening roof vents. London Architectural Glass can structurally bond your own free-issued frames, including pre-fabricated fixed lights, venting roof lights, slim framed sliding doors and other specialised door framings to double glazed units or other types of glass panels.
Efficient Unit Bonding Process
Working exclusively with Dow Corning 993 for a high-quality bond, your finished glass and framework can be collected directly from our factory completely ready for site installation. This efficient unit bonding process from London Architectural Glass saves expenses on costly transportation, minimises the risk of breakages and reduces risks in the amount of handling a unit may have to endure.
If the worst does happen and you experience a breakage, London Architectural Glass is also adept at de-bonding and re-bonding glass and framings and we are able to reuse the original frame where possible.
