Coloured Interlayers

Coloured Interlayers

Where you want to create a coloured glass panel, either for single glazed internal use or as part of an insulated glass unit, coloured interlayers are an effective and stable way of achieving a clear constant colour face.

London Architectural Glass offer Vanceva to architects and designers with a near infinite range of colours for use within their architectural glazing designs. Vanceva coloured interlayers are PVB based interlayers, coloured with heat and light-stable pigments, rather than dyes used in ink-based colourations, for a long lasting colour that does not fade or dull under direct sun contact.

The Vanceva colour system is based on a group of 13 base colours, which can be layered together to create over 1000 different colours and different coloured effects able to suit all design aspirations. Up to 4 interlayers can be used, laminated between two glass panels under pressure and heat (exactly the same as a standard interlayer lamination process) to create the desired colour or effect.

Where a translucent effect is desired, a white interlayer can be combined with the coloured laminates to give the glass a translucent effect used for maintaining privacy. If an opaque coloured glass unit is needed, the Polar White interlayer can be used with any combination of colours to create a glass panel with no through vision for complete privacy and only 8% light transmission.

Two Sided Colour Panels

You can also create a two sided colour panel, showing different colours on each side, by sandwiching either the Polar White interlayer or Absolute Black between the two desired colour laminates. As the Absolute Black and Polar White interlayers have near 0% light transmission, a two-sided colour glass panel can be achieved.
