Digital Printed Interlayers

Digital Printed Interlayers

Digital printed interlayers allow you to recreate any image safely laminated within a safety glass panel.

Using computer based digital printing techniques any type of image, logo, motif or even photograph can be exactly recreated, enlarged and encapsulated within a glass unit for use in any number of design applications.

High resolution ink jet printers print the image straight onto a specialist PVB interlayer s to be used in a laminated glass panel. These images are re-formed in up to 1400dpi resolution printing for a clear, near perfect recreation.

Laminating the printed image within a laminated glass panel reduces the chance of fading over time. The glass unit’s protection of the interlayer against the two main causes of fading; humidity and pollutants. In accelerated life tests digital printed interlayer images showed over 10 years life expectancy against fading.

Various Levels of Transparency

A full colour palette creates images and pictures of rich, vibrant colour and depth. Various levels of transparency can be created through the glass unit from clear, cloudy to opaque by the interlayers and thickness of inks to be used.

Either toughened or annealed glass can be used for these decorative glass panels. Toughened glass is recommended for larger installations but by laminating annealed glass units together with the printed PVB interlayer you are also creating a safety glass that can be used as such.

This type of imagery laminating can be used for solely decorative purposes or for information in commercial areas. You can recreate maps, logos, company taglines within a glass unit for a long lasting, almost vandalism safe installation. Prints can be included into glass units up to 6m by 3.2m in width for massive, impressive images.
